Troy-Bilt Hand Push Lawn Mowers – Top 3 Recommendations

#1, Troy-Bilt TB120B Hand Push Gas Lawn Mower

Our first recommendation when it comes to Hand Push Gas lawn mowers at Troy-Bilt would have to be the Troy-Bilt TB120B Lawn Mower which is designed for small yards and you should be able to get your hands on it for less than $400 when seen at the time of our review. It offers a 21 inch wide mowing path and it is designed with a Briggs & Stratton 550ex 140cc engine for dealing with average to tough mowing conditions.

This is a 3 in 1 gas lawn mower in that you can use the side discharge, mulch or use the rear collection bag for the clippings so there are plenty of options for whatever preferences you have in your own yard.

To support the starting, this Lawn mower has the ReadyStart technology so you don’t have to worry about any choke or priming and of course it has the TriAction mow cutting to give you a nice clean cut appearance and finish after all your hard work is done. Changing the mow heights is done with the easy to use side levers and the mowing heights range from 0.75 inch up to 2.5 inches. You also get a 2 year warranty for peace of mind if you decide to buy

Pros

  • Overall we felt that this lawnmower is available at an affordable level and offers good value for the money
  • Starts perfectly every time and you have different options be it mulching, rear collecting or just using the side discharge for less informal areas
  • Easy to assemble, well built and good performance on grass cutting and collections

Cons

  • Difficult to work on slopes and hills as there is no self-propelled support
  • There is no electric starter so you need to use the pull cord

#2, Troy-Bilt TB110 Hand Push Gas Lawn Mower

Our second recommendation when it comes to Troy-Bilt Hand Push Gas lawn mowers would have to be the Troy-Bilt TB110 Lawn Mower which is very similar to the TB120B except there is no side discharge function available on the TB110. It has the same Briggs and Stratton 550ex 140cc engine and it also has the same size rear collection bag 1.9 bushel and the same 21 inch wide mowing path

The mulch integrated plug does a good job in returning the clippings into a fine mulch to act as a natural fertilizer in promoting a healthier looking lawn and the size of the wheels helps when it comes to difficult mowing conditions or difficult terrain. You don’t have to worry about the choke or priming here as it has the ReadyStart technology built in to assist starting and there are plenty of mowing heights available to suit all grass type situations.

Pros

  • Nicely built and starts reliably with the ReadyStart system
  • No priming and no choke is required and the price point is certainly very affordable
  • Simple assembly process which only takes around 10-15 minutes

Cons

  • There is no side discharge available for the clippings
  • There is also no electric starter so you need to work the recoil cord
  • You get a 2 year home warranty however there is no commercial warranties available

Price Guide: $350 - $400 @ Troy-Bilt

#3, Troy-Bilt TB105B Hand Push Gas Lawn Mower

For those of you seeking a lower priced lawn mower solution, we would have to recommend the Troy-Bilt TB105B Hand Push Gas Lawn Mower which has smaller wheels than other Troy-Bilt lawn mowers and it limited to the side discharge and mulching only as there is no rear bag collection with this particular lawn mower model. As there are less features included with this TB105B lawnmower, the price point is lower and you should be able to get your hands on it for less than $350 when see at the time of our review

The engine is slightly different in that you need to work the Prime N Pull system for the starting unlike the ReadyStart in other lawn mowers but it still offers the same level of mowing power with it Briggs & Stratton 140cc engine. It offers a 21 inch mowing path plus 6 mow height settings and it also comes backed with their 2 year warranty for peace of mind
